What is FREEDOM? - Cairo, Egypt…

Massive anti-Mubarak demonstrations swell in downtown Cairo, despite government threats to violently repress citizens that remain out on the streets after 4 P.M.
Egypt death toll more and more; tens of thousands return to the streets

It is very simple but find very difficult - Freedom refers in a very general sense to the state of being free, unrestricted, unconfined or unfettered.

‘Freedom’ refers solely to the relation of humans to other humans, and the only infringement on it is coercion by humans.

Political freedom is the absence of interference with the sovereignty of an individual by the use of coercion or aggression. The concept of political freedom is very closely allied with the concepts of civil liberties and individual rights, which in most democratic societies is the profession characterized by various freedoms which are afforded the legal protection of the state. If it is mismatch then communal clash will occur very easily.

Some of these freedoms include:

• Freedom of assembly
• Freedom of association
• Freedom to bear arms
• Freedom of education
• Freedom of movement
• Freedom of the press
• Freedom of religion
• Freedom of speech
• Freedom of thought
• Intellectual freedom
• Sexual freedom

But Economic Freedom is very important. Economic freedom is a controversial term used in economic research and policy debates. As with freedom generally, there are various definitions, but no universally accepted concept of economic freedom. One major approach to economic freedom comes from the libertarian tradition emphasizing free markets and private property, while another extends the welfare economics study of individual choice, with greater economic freedom coming from a "larger" set of possible choices.

Types of Freedom

There are four types of freedom:

• Physical freedom - the possibility for a person to go where he/she wants and do what s/he wants

• Spiritual freedom - the privilege of being able to express one's thoughts or to live according to one's outlook

• National freedom - the authority which enables a person to identify and to live with others of his/her people

• State freedom - the ability of a person to live (preferably in his/her own land) under a government of his/her choosing

In order to stop the communal clash the people need to understand Social Equality. Social equality is a social state of affairs in which all people within a specific society or isolated group have the same status in a certain respect. At the very least, social equality includes equal rights under the law, such as security, voting rights, freedom of speech and assembly, and the extent of property rights. However, it also includes access to education, health care and other social securities. It also includes equal opportunities and obligations, and so involves the whole society.

Social equality does not require communism or income equality; it requires “Equal opportunities”.

We need to understand the real meaning of the freedom then only we can prevent the future problems and also solve that. If each and every person understands actual meaning of the freedom then only we can solve and prevent the communal clash and war between two countries it may be the cold war and also need to understand the human value.
