Australian skipper Ricky Ponting smashed a LCD television set in the Australian dressing room. He is in a fit of anger, after he got run out against Zimbabwe, sources in the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) announced.
The incident took place immediately after Ponting was run out on 28 by a direct hit from Chris Mpofu in the Australia Vs Zimbabwe on February 21.
GCA said that they had informed the Australian cricket authorities about the incident.
GCA officials said that they would be conducting a meeting today to decide on further action in this incident
Ahmedabad: An enraged Ricky Ponting vented out his frustration by smashing a television set with his bat in Australian team’s dressing room after he was run out in the Group A match against Zimbabwe.
"It's true. We have already informed the ICC and the Australian cricket authorities about the incident," Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Rajesh Patel said before adding that the incident was a minor one.
But when the Australian media manager Lachy Patterson was contacted, he said he was not aware of any such incident.
